P.V. Sindhu Makes History at Rio Olympics

A day after Indian wrestler Sakshi Malik won India’s first silver medal at the Rio Olympics, badminton player P.V. Sindhu Makes History by became the first Indian woman to reach Olympics finals and win Silver Medal.

Sindhu became the fourth Indian to win a silver medal at the Olympics after shooters Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Vijay Kumar and wrestler Sushil Kumar are the others.

The two-time World championship bronze medalist also became the fifth woman player from India to win a medal in Olympic and the first to clinch a silver. She is also the youngest India to win a medal at the Olympics. Karnam Malleshwari (Weightlifter), MC Mary Kom(boxer), Saina Nehwal (shuttler) and Sakshi Malik(wrestler) are the other women's players from India to clinch a medal in the quadrennial sports spectacle.
